This web site was designed and is run by the Doolin Tourism Co Op.
The Co Op’s aim is to promote and develop Tourism in the Doolin area.
The group has existed in various formats since the early 1980’s and is run on a voluntary basis.
Various Tourism promotions were undertaken during the 1980’s by Doolin tourism.
During 1979/80/81 there were many meetings with Bord Failte to get Doolin registered on All Holiday Maps.
- 1982 Doolin was accepted by Ordinance Survey to name Doolin on New Print maps.
- 1983 First brochures for Doolin.
- 1984 Doolin Development Co. was formed.
Projects over the years included lobbying for water and Sewerage schemes, having - Post & Telegraph poles/wires removed and relocated under under ground.
Working on improved sinage.
Clearing along road sides and rebuilding stonewalls Clearing river beds.
Promotions in Dublin and abroad.
